Sweet edit!!! Looks way fun
It was! Moab is always great
What bike you on?
I think this was a 2018 KTM 300 XCW. Hard to remember it was so long ago
Any instruction on head pipe removal? I'd like to also remove that canister, I didnt see it in the manual? Have a page # Thanks!
Super basic. 2 springs on the front of the head pipe and the the engine mount on the right side of the bike. Just wiggle it loose from there
Thanks! So no removal of shock necessary?
@@rcrhinehartI can’t remember honestly. I might have had the shock and muffler off when I had the bike torn down. But I feel like I pulled the header first this time for some reason.
@@EverySingleSunday ok cool! Keep the videos coming 10/10 my 24 500 excf just came in last week. Prepping for an August Colorado trip 💪
Musics too loud
You must be too old
If you don't have a vacuum bleeder take a large serenge and load it with brake fluid, go from the bottom bleeder port by the engine cover, open the fitting port, push fluid up into the reservoir slowly. Works like a charm, in 5 minutes you will have an air free perfect clutch pull.
Yep, another great way to do it
There is no way I'm doing that. The manufacturer did not test that. My warranty is based on the manufacturers testing. I have bought a ton of shit from Taco Moto for my 500 EXC-F. But I'm not performing an experiment based on some guy in Nevada. F.U.
There’s plenty of science behind it. Results are at the end of the video. My oil is in great shape after 50 hours in Baja each trip. I’ve run it to 80 hours and it’s still good. But, run what makes you happy. F.U.
I need to come to this place. Seen countless videos but never been. Looks epic, great video.
You should. However they changed it up a bit and now to stop in you have to stay there and maybe get a tour package? I’m not sure but definitely worth looking into
Just finished Sec 1-3 of the MABDR on my Tuareg this past weekend. It currently has a Motoz Dualventure front and Rallz in the back. I dislike the Dualventure. It performs well off road, but is very loud on slab; and has a slight wobble under acceleration on slab. I have a new set of 2Tracks I’ll be mounting soon.
Curious how you think they compare once you get some time on them. Have fun
good review. New go adventure riding. Have a CB500x and the stick tire is mostly a road tire. So have been researching something with more grip. Where I am at the rainy season is upon us and wish there was an adventure tire that did better in the mud. The wet mud here is so slick, almost like a wet clay and my stock tires end up spinning and have gone down twice. Lastly, as I mentioned I am new to all of this, why do guys use Ram Mounted mirrors?
I ride a lot of offroad so these mirrors are durable and easy to remove. For mud you want a more puncture as it will clear out better vs fill with mud. It will be terrible on asphalt unfortunately Look at my Tusk 2 Track video. That might help during winter but still not a good mud tire
@@EverySingleSunday thank you
Have u ever had to adjust the pressure plate to #3 hole? On my 24 300 it engages towards the end of lever throw, it's definitely worse after repeatedly slipping it. I've manually bled it twice after installing 9mm.
If it’s been slipping and you’re in a higher pressure setting the plates are probably worn out and need to be replaced. I usually run on the softest or the middle setting for less pressure. I would also make sure it’s bled properly. KTM clutches usually last forever so it to be dead already is wild
I see you're running the mosko luggage , are you using the reckless 40 or 80? Great video!!
Thanks so much. I have the R80 gen 3 on my grey bike and Beau has the R40 gen 4 on his black / blue bike.
How did you get it to go 90mph?
It sure if it was 90. I can’t remember exactly what we got up to but it felt pretty fast
Did you see the rolled jeep on the side. We been going for generations
It sure exactly what one you’re talking about as it’s been a few years. So many wrecked jeeps over the years they all blend together
Wish i knew i could use gorilla tape iv only got tire half-way one but definitely not goin back
If you’re 1/2 way…. You’re still at the start Just tape it if you need to tape it Otherwise you need to pull it all the way off
Is your bike a KTM
This was a 2018 KTM 300 XCW
Can you desmog and not update ecu?
Yes. You just need the emulator dongle when you remove the pump on the side
@@EverySingleSunday Thanks!
I think it would have been helpful to understand why you're doing this to begin with-- what problems are you trying to solve? Were you experiencing flameouts, but adjusting the idle did not work? Even Taco Moto's white-paper says setting idle properly solves 75% of this issue. Did you want more power that re-gearing sprocket ratios for your application-- hard enduro, technical trails, mixed, desert-- did not solve in terms of low-end torque vs. top-end power? Get ECUs and Taco Moto's tuned version are certainly great for high-end racing, but almost every review I see, the rider didn't try simple and cheap bike maintenance (free idle settings and <$50 sprocket swaps) that could vastly improve what they're trying to fix.
Because I want more power and I want the bike to run better. These things are too corked up from the factory and occasional flame outs can cause serious injury
I wish they made those in my size.
What size do you need and what bike are you riding?
I got a 2004 450 EXC and it’s great but constantly having carb issues. I have it up for sale and I am trying to decide whether to go with the KTM 500 EXC-F or the 690 Enduro R. 6’6” 260lbs. I ride like y’all do here in Georgia. I took my voyager pro off to put on the next bike. The 690 enduro R is a 2021 and it has a full Aurora rally kit on it. What do you think? Also the 500 EXC-F is a 2020. I guess as far as the 500 goes I could also grab 2024.
The only time I would pick a 690 over a 500 is if you have to do lots of road riding at speeds over 60 mph I feel the 500 is a much better bike in every way…. But I’m also not real a fan of the 690 at all.
The 20-23 500 are some of my favorite bikes. The new 24+ has some cool stuff but also some issues that I don’t fee make it any better. If you can grab that 2020, go for it
I just put these on my T7 and they are fantastic so far. Completely changed the bike off road compared to the stockers.
Glad to hear it. I feel they are a fantastic tire and a huge value
I also have a Tenere, and unfortunately don't get that much time to go off-road. I was thinking about doing the missions over the raids, but heard they were substantially heavier than the raids. Since you had both, could you/can you tell the difference in weight between the two? Anything else I should consider for 70/30ish street bias tire? Also, what plastics are on the grey Tenere?
I didn’t notice a weight difference on the bike with the missions vs raids. I have a video on the missions as well if you want to check that out. They are great tires Plastics are from R Tek and are much more durable Thanks
Is there anyway you could be the first ever youtuber to answer me when i ask what trail this is and where its at? Trying to plan a trip and i cant get a single shred of help from a single person in the community. Truely heartbreaking
It’s Crested Butte, CO. Not sure if the names of the trails but a mix of Crested Butte and Taylor Park area. Can’t really go wrong with anything up in that area. Hope that helps
🔥👍🏼
Brapp
But this bypass thing doesn’t work on the 2024 890r.
Well, this video is four years old I would reach out to Rottweiler Performance, as I’m sure they will have a solution soon
did I just waste part of my life watching this? What happened to Copper Canyon?
Not sure how you didn’t see copper canyon if you watched it The second half of the video is all through the canyon
Trail and pace look great, tragic on the camera angle.
I agree 100%. Guess you can’t expect racers to set it up proper as they are focused on other stuff
Damn you are a beast. I love my 790 and know it can do way more than I am capable of. I ride easy single track. I’m curious did you try a 15 tooth on the front and do you like it?
I’ve been doing off-road for a long time so this is just normal for me. They got much worse over the years with the bike and we did a bunch of crazy stuff. I don’t remember what sprocket was on there originally in the front, but I ended up going down one for off-road.
What’s the place called and how to get there? If you don’t mind me asking..thanks in advance
I believe this is near Gorman, California. I don’t know the exact name of the trails but it’s in that trail system
Hey Travis, what are your thoughts about this tire compared to the Dunlop Trailmax Raid? KTM 890 Adv R here.
This tire is much more aggressive than a Trail max raid. The raid is a little better on the street, but not nearly as good off-road I have a video on the RAID as well if you’re interested
💯👏🏼👍🏼
Thanks
It's not avaliable to order!
I have been available for a long time. They must just be out of stock right now. I haven’t checked but maybe try a different color and that might be in stock.
Crux.
Yep
Great video. I was trying to decide between the Mission and the Raid, but I think after watching your video I will probably go with the Raid. Thanks again.
Have fun out there and ride safe. I have a video on the Mission as well and they are capable offroad as long as it’s hard pack. The Raid is much more confidence inspiring when it gets loose
Can not agree more . I have had auxiliary lighting on my KLR since I got it back in 2012 . I think they are a must .
Brappp
Did you ever replace the headlight?
Always. I run a Ruby Moto R7 as I feel it’s the best option available for an enduro bike
@@EverySingleSunday I found it on the taco moto site and will probably upgrade to that.
You’ll love it. They also sell a dimmer dongle if you want to have High / low operation with it.
Why not just adjust the clutch diaphragm disc as well. This is all I do with every KTM I've owned recently , and I have small hands.
Because on a 500 you need the extra pressure or the clutch will slip On my 300 I move to the lighter setting but on a 500 it doesn’t work I also do the clutch master along with adjusting the disc pressure as well
Thanks, an excellent review 😀 What tire pressure did you have on-road ? did you change it for the off-road part ? Dunlop says that with the TrailMax Raid you may keep same tire pressure on and off-road.
I ran 30f/32r for the entire trip. Too much between on and offroad to go up and down on this trip
@@EverySingleSunday thanks for your answer, and nice rides
Love the flowing stuff, but at 72 years old I'd have trouble keeping up that pace all day long. thanks for the memories of how it used to be.
Riding at 72, sounds like you’re doing it right! Thanks for checking out my trips and have fun
Great review ! Thanks for the info. Considering these for a DRZ supermoto.
They are sticky if you want something that can go in the dirt a bit more…. But not sticky like a good street tire. All depends where you ride at
They make external patches for those problem.
I’ve never heard of that before. I’ll have to look it up
Gonna go ride up it tomorrow morning... Cant wait....
Have fun. Weather should be amazing
Installed these a couple months ago on my BMW R1200GSA in preparation for an ADV training class that took place last weekend. They're a little loud on the road, but the traction was really good in both dry and wet conditions. It rained off and on during the ADV class, and they performed really well on both wet grass, light mud, and gravel road conditions. Was able to maintain traction control in all of the offroad conditions. I purchased mine online, had them shipped to my house for free, and installed/balanced them myself (first time ever trying that).
Glad they are working out for you in all conditions
What tires are you running as of today?
Today I have a GoldenTyre 216 up front with a Tusk D Sport out back. But… I’m in a trip that is pure offroad and it only has to last 800 miles and I want ultimate traction
I have a Pan america looking to get a 50/50 tire i may get these.
These won’t last long on that bike if you twist hard. I have been thinking of doing a raid up front and a mission out back next time. It’ll wear longer and
If the bypass is mounted near the CAT would not the heat damage the switch?
I never had an issue
Love the Raid on my 990 🔥
Glad to hear it. They have been awesome
Your stoke level is through the roof on this day
❤️❤️❤️
Rode this trail for the first time ever last week. It was a fun and challenging trail, the fact it was 95 F and we just rode Moab for 5 days made it a little harder. Planning on doing it again when possible. It's a little harder to make it there when you have to drive for 18 hours.
Yeah, it’s always a little bit harder when it’s hot out and you’ve been riding for a few days. I wish it was closer for me as well, I’m about 10 hours away. Glad to hear you had a good time
Do you have the pull that 02 kit off to run the GET ECU? Or can you leave it on?
You can leave it on But with the GET it doesn’t read the 02 anymore so it’s just extra weight and stuff that can be broken off
Where is this?
Just north of Moab about an hour.
